Inspired by works such as I decided to modify heavily a LumiPocket LT that I assembled into a compact machine for sintering of sugar. This machine is still in working prototype stage, but experiments into creating a cube using a low power UV laser and special, colored sugar, where very promising! The 3D Printed part was quite fragile, and after 3 days of exhibition at Rome Maker Faire, the sugar cube had already suffered too much.
LumiSweet is a project for the creation of a laser sintering 3D printer working with icing sugar and dedicated to the Food Industry. LumiSweet allows to create unusual geometries that cannot be produced in any other way, with any other technology. The Pastry Chef’s fantasy becomes the only limit!
